With the project “Literature in Flux” the HALMA network organizes a transnational cultural project with cultural NGOs from the Western Balkans and Turkey in cooperation with HALMA members.
The project is funded by the European Commission, the Austrian cultural institutes, Pro Helvetia.
Decoration of Honour in Gold for Services to the Republic of Austria
Saturday 3th April 2010 was for AKŞİT KÜLTÜR - House of Thought and Literature a very important day. On this day Tevfik Akşit, the founder and father of the name of the institution, was given the Decoration of Honour in Gold for services to the Republic of Austria because of the engagement in cultural activities.
The decoration was given by the Austrian Ambassador of Ankara in the presence of the Consul General of Istanbul and honorary consuls of the other cities as well as of the businessmen and industrialists relating to Austria.
We are looking for experienced or inexperienced translators, scholars and laymen for our Translation Workshops. If you are interested in translating books from English or German into Turkish, or if you want to participate in our translation seminars, please contact us.
