Duo :nota bene:
Eva STEINSCHADEN, Violin
Alexander VAVTAR, Piano

26.06.2009

Location: Ahmed Adnan Saygun Sanat Merkezi / Izmir
Program: Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven, Helmut Schmidinger

Eva Steinschaden and Alexander Vavtar founded the duo :nota bene: in 1996. Engaged in instrumental teaching since the completion of their musical studies at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, they have specialised in the music of the Viennese Classical school, devoting attention also to modern and in particular contemporary music. In 1999, the duo was the only Austrian ensemble to be accepted for the master class held by the Trio di Trieste. Since then, they have collaborated with the world famous musicians of the Trio di Trieste at the Scuola Superiore di Musica da Camera in Trieste. The two musicians have for many years maintained a close artistic partnership with the "Schauspielhaus Salzburg", the largest "free theatre" in Austria. Their collaboration has produced many programmes blending music and text with subtlety and humour. Special programmes were compiled for the Mozart jubilee year 2006 and the Haydn anniversary in 2009, in collaboration with the Austrian writer Ludwig Laher and the two Salzburg tenors Peter Sonn and Maximilian Kiener. Over the years, the duo :nota bene: has given the first performance of many works, by distinguished composers including Cesar Bresgen, Charles Camilleri, Helmut Neumann, Laurence Traiger, Klemens Vereno, Ludwig Nussbichler and Christian David Kardeis.
